The Czech Embassy in Kuwait Commemorated the Feast of St. Wenceslas with a Public Mass Celebrated by Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop E. M. Nugent

As in previous years, a Mass was celebrated in Kuwait this year in honour of Czech Statehood Day and St. Wenceslas, the patron saint of the Czech lands.

The Mass was celebrated by His Excellency Archbishop Eugene Martin Nugent, Apostolic Nuncio.

This year’s Mass took place at the Minor Basilica of Our Lady of Arabia in Ahmadi. In addition to members of the diplomatic corps, it was attended by numerous faithful from the Christian community, who had the opportunity to learn more about St. Wenceslas, the Czech patron saint and a symbol of Czech statehood.

The occasion also provided an opportunity for a heartfelt farewell to His Excellency Archbishop E. M. Nugent, who is concluding his mission in Kuwait and will shortly take up his new assignment as Apostolic Nuncio in Prague. His forthcoming departure and new mission gave the celebration a particularly special and memorable significance.
