Allert of the General Directorate of Civil Defense for citizens and residents regarding high temperatures in Kuwait

Temperatures are expected to rise during the coming days, reaching between 47°C and 55°C, with the possibility of the formation of cumulonimbus clouds, which may cause reduced air quality and a feeling of suffocation due to humidity and heat in most areas.
The following warnings and precautions are advised:
- Please remove the following items from vehicles: 1. Gas containers or gas-related materials. 2. Lighters and high-pressure aerosol cans that may ignite due to heat. 3. Soft drinks and similar beverages. 4. Perfumes and batteries of electronic devices in general. 5. Keep the car windows slightly open. 6. Do not fill the vehicle’s fuel tank completely. 7. Refuel vehicles during the evening hours. 8. Avoid travelling by car during the morning period as much as possible. 9. Do not overinflate vehicle tires, especially when travelling.
- Be aware of scorpions and snakes, as they may emerge from their hiding places more frequently and could enter farms and homes in search of cooler areas.
- Drink plenty of water and fluids.
- Avoid placing gas cylinders under direct sunlight.
- Ensure that electrical loads on power meters are not exceeded, and avoid operating air conditioners in empty areas, especially during peak heat hours.
- Avoid direct exposure to sunlight, especially between 10:00 AM and 3:00 PM.
