The ceremony held at the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang, was attended by the top management of the Universiti Sains Malaysia, researchers and the media.
The two USM students, Ms. Ng Siow Woon PhD Student, School of Physics and Mr. Puvanisvaran Murukasan PhD Student, Graduate School of Business received grants from the University of Pardubice in the amount of 8.830 MYR. The scholarschips are the outcome of discussions opened by the mission of Czech University Rectors to Malaysia organized by the Czech Embassy in cooperation with the Czech Rectors' Conference in May 2015.
The two research stays for PhD students from USM will take place in the fields of physics and management. The Malaysian side is considering this kind of cooperation as a first step leading to negotiations on the provision of dual degrees, exchange of teachers and a continued collaboration in research.
