The proposal to negotiate the Treaty came out from the Czech Embassy in Kuala Lumpur and was motivated by the increasing amount of requests of the Supreme Public Prosecutor´s Office of the Czech Republic for legal assistance in criminal matters in Malaysia. The Czech Embassy also collaborated on the preparation, organization and on the course of the negotiations. The Czech delegation was composed by the representatives from the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The second round of the negotiations is expected to take place in Prague in the shortest and most convenient date.
