Malaysian Students Awarded in Fine Arts Exhibition of Lidice 2017

Two young Malaysian artists - Leonardo Chang Guerra from Selangor and Lee Yi Fan from the SJK(C) Perempuan China School in Georgetown – were among the students who won recognitions by the jury of the 45th International Children´s Exhibition of Fine Arts Lidice 2017.

In this year’s edition of the international exhibition, whose theme was “Travel”, the total of 25690 fine art works from 83 countries were submitted, out of which the jury awarded 1289 young, aspiring artists. Malaysian students sent 81 works.

Ambassador of the Czech Republic Rudolf Hykl handed over the award to a Malaysian student Leonardo Chang Guerra on the 20th November 2017 at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Kuala Lumpur. The awardee, who won the recognition already for the second time, was accompanied by his parents.

Presentations of the awards of the International Fine Arts Children´s Exhibition are of a great interest among Malaysian students, their families and teachers and constitute an important opportunity to remind of the legacy of Lidice and to promote a good name of the Czech Republic abroad.
