Visit of the Minister Jozef Síkela in Malaysia

From February 22 to 24, 2023, the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Mr. Jozef Síkela, and the accompanying business delegation made an official visit to Malaysia.

During the first business day of his stay, Minister Síkela spoke in the opening part of the EU - Indo Pacific Regional Energy Conference (the first day was dedicated to LNG, the second day to hydrogen), where he also summarized the experiences of CZ PRES and energy councils. In subsequent presentations by Mr. Gunnar Wiegand (Managing Director EEAS) and Mr. Matthew Baldwin (Deputy DG ENER), he was praised both for CZ PRES and for his presentation. He then opened the Czech-Malaysian Business Forum, during which a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Union of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic and the National Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Malaysia (NCCIM) and an agreement between Czech pilot training providers and their local partners. Furthermore, as part of a working lunch, he met with the management of the Erwan Group (the business part of the delegation visited the floating solar power plant of this company in parallel) and then, together with members of the business part of the delegation, he visited the energy monitoring center of the Malaysian company EDRA, whose equipment comes from the Czech Republic. The minister rounded off the first day with a meeting with his Malaysian counterpart, Minister of International Trade and Industry Zafrul Tangku Abdul Aziz. The minister spent the second day of his stay with meeting the management of Petronas and representatives of the Royal Kelantan Investment Fund.
