Minister Lipavský to Visit Slovakia

Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský will visit Slovakia on Tuesday 18 June 2024. He will hold talks with his counterpart Juraj Blanár in Bratislava. In the afternoon, he will meet with the Speaker-designate of the Slovak Parliament, Peter Žiga, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Robert Kaliňák, and the new President, Peter Pellegrini.

Minister Lipavský's programme will begin with the laying of wreaths at the memorials of Milan Rastislav Štefánik and Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. The head of Czech diplomacy will then hold talks with Slovak Minister Blanár on Czech-Slovak relations, the current situation in Ukraine, current security issues and the EU agenda.

In the afternoon, in the historic building of the Slovak National Council, the Minister will meet Peter Žiga, who has been in charge of the Slovak National Council since Peter Pellegrini was elected as the new President. Minister Lipavský will then move to the Government Office where he will hold talks with Slovak Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Robert Kaliňák. The afternoon part of the programme will be rounded off by a visit of the new Slovak Head of State, Peter Pellegrini, at the Presidential Palace.
