Minister Jan Lipavský will pay a working visit to Iceland from 12th to 13th March 2025. In addition to a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Thorgedur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir, he will meet with the Prime Minister, Kristrún Frostadóttir, and with the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Icelandic Parliament, Pawel Bartoszek.
The Minister's visit is closely related to the current political and security situation in Europe and precedes the upcoming involvement of the Czech Air Force in the NATO Air Policing mission in Iceland from the end of May to the beginning of July this year.
Iceland is also an interesting trading partner for the Czech Republic. The visit aims to build on the export successes of Czech brewers, car manufacturers and the construction company Metrostav and to create conditions for the successful development of trade and economic relations between the Czech Republic and Iceland.
