Minister Lipavský To Represent Czechia at EU Foreign Affairs Council meeting in Brussels and EU Ministerial Forum with Indo-Pacific

On November 20 and 21, 2025, Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský will attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) meeting in Brussels, followed by the EU Ministerial Forum with Indo-Pacific countries. The main topics of discussion among the ministers will be Russia's ongoing aggression against Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, the Sahel region, and Sudan, and the further development of relations with Indo-Pacific countries.
As part of the introductory item on the FAC agenda, ministers will discuss security guarantees for Ukraine, further assistance to the attacked country, and the 20th package of anti-Russian sanctions. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha will also participate in the meeting via videoconference to provide an update on the situation.
Under the item on the situation in the Middle East, ministers will discuss the Gaza Peace Plan and the EU's possible involvement in its implementation, and will also address the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
The EU has long been paying attention to the Sahel region, and ministers will discuss possibilities for political cooperation, strengthening security and stability, and counterbalancing the influence of Russia and China in this part of Africa. Ministers will also address the current situation in Sudan, where a civil war is ongoing, resulting in a widespread humanitarian crisis.
The FAC Council meeting will be followed by the 4th EU Ministerial Forum with the Indo-Pacific region, which is of strategic importance to EU countries. The forum at the level of foreign ministers will address issues of security, economic resilience, investment, and the transition to renewable energy sources.
