Minister Lipavský to Attend the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels

On Monday, February 24, 2025, the Minister of ForeignAffairs, Jan Lipavský, will attend the regular meeting of theForeign Affairs Council (FAC), marking the thirdanniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Theagenda will include Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, thesituation in the Middle East, and current developments in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
As part of the first session focused on Ukraine, Andriy Sybiha, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, will join the discussion via video call. The discussion will focus on continued military assistanceto Ukraine, the adoption of the sixteenth EU sanctions packageagainst Russia, and the prospects for peace negotiations.
Other topics will include the situation in the Middle East, including Syria, Lebanon, as well as developments in theDemocratic Republic of the Congo.
Ministers will also address the situation in Iran and the latestdevelopments in Georgia. After the Council meeting, the EU-Israel Association Council will take place.
