On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský will attend the Magnitsky Awards ceremony in London. This event, organized by Bill Browder, a British financier and human rights activist, will recognize individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to human rights.
Minister Lipavský was awarded the Magnitsky Award in 2022 for his role in advocating for the Czech sanctions law, which targets individuals responsible for human rights violations. The awards are named after Russian lawyer Sergei Magnitsky, who was murdered after exposing a government corruption scheme. Since 2015, the Magnitsky Awards have been presented to journalists, politicians, and activists who have made significant contributions to the protection of human rights.
In addition to meeting with British politicians, Minister Lipavský will also engage with other international figures attending the evening.
