Singapore, as the most economically developed ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) country, is an important partner for the Czech Republic and the largest export destination in Southeast Asia. "Economy and trade, defence and security, cyber security and cooperation in new technologies are among the priority areas of cooperation between the Czech Republic and Singapore," confirmed Minister Lipavský.

Czech Minister also mentioned the Czech Republic's Strategy for Cooperation with the Indo-Pacific, which the Government approved as the first ever in Central and Eastern Europe. "This national strategy supports the Czech interest in maintaining cooperation not only with Singapore, but with the entire region, whose strategic, political and security importance has a direct impact on events in Europe," said the Czech Foreign Minister.

During the meeting, the ministers also discussed regional and global issues. President Tan Chuan-Jin reaffirmed Singapore's principled position on respect for international law.
