Minister Lipavský Presents the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to Diplomacy at the Czernin Palace

 

On the occasion of the 36th anniversary of 17 November 1989, Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský presented six individuals with the Medal for Distinguished Contribution to Diplomacy. 

The ceremony took place on the Day of the Struggle for Freedom and Democracy. “First and foremost, I would like to thank you. In these difficult international times, I value your moral fortitude, professionalism, and service to our country all the more. The results you have achieved endure and commit us. Thanks to you, our country is seen as a trustworthy and respected partner. You help promote the values that are fundamental to our diplomacy,” said Minister Jan Lipavský. 

The Medal for Distinguished Contribution to Diplomacy has been awarded since 2019. 

 

This year’s recipients are: 

Tomáš KOPEČNÝ – for his outstanding contribution to strengthening international cooperation in the field of security and defence, and for his support for Ukraine during Russia’s aggression. 

Karel KÜHNL – for his outstanding contribution to the development of Czech foreign policy, his long service to the state, his commitment to democratic values, and his personal contribution to promoting the good name of Czechia abroad. 

Markéta PEKAROVÁ ADAMOVÁ – for her outstanding contribution to representing Czechia and enhancing its international standing. 

Tomáš POJAR – for his long service to the state and his outstanding contribution to strengthening security, international cooperation, and the good name of Czechia abroad. 

Vladimír POSOLDA – for his outstanding contribution to protecting and promoting Czech foreign policy interests, his long service to the state, and his role in strengthening the credibility of Czech diplomacy on the international stage. 

Eva ZAŽÍMALOVÁ – for her outstanding contribution to international scientific cooperation, representing Czech science abroad, and advancing scientific diplomacy as a bridge between nations.
