Minister Lipavský Held Talks with Partners in Belgrade

Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský visited Serbia from 10 to 11 October 2024. In Belgrade, he met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Marko Đurić, the President of the Republic Aleksandar Vučić, the Speaker of the Parliament Ana Brnabić, the Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, a delegation of the Parliamentary Group of Friends of the Czech Republic and the Head of the EU Delegation Emanuel Giaufret.

"Czechia is one of Serbia's 10 largest trading partners, and we are also one of the largest investors in Serbia. I discussed today our further cooperation, which is shaping up in transport infrastructure, environmental protection and tourism," said the head of Czech diplomacy.

On the agenda of the meeting with his partners in Belgrade were bilateral political and economic relations, Serbia's integration into the EU, the internal political situation in the country and the situation in the region, including the alignment of positions with the EU's Common Foreign and Security Policy.

"We support the Serbian government in its efforts to move forward in the accession negotiations. A constructive approach to the dialogue on normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina is part of the accession process. Czech diplomacy supports the process led by the European Commission together with the EU Special Representative for Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue," Minister Lipavský added.

The Minister also visited the future Czech Centre in Belgrade, which will be inaugurated in a few weeks by Prime Minister Petr Fiala.  It will promote Czech culture and strengthen Czech-Serbian cultural relations.
