International Conference on Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue to be Held at Czernin Palace

(This article expired 14.11.2024 / 11:00.)

Date: 14.11.2024 - 15.11.2024 , Venue: Czernin Palace

The event will take place on Thursday 14 November 2024 attheMinistry of Foreign Affairs. This year's theme is Freedom ofReligion and Belief for Peacebuilding and Combating Islamophobia and Radical Ideologies.

The conference is organised by the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute of International Relations Prague in cooperation with the IRF Secretariat, Templeton Religion Trust, Anna Lindh Foundation and Love Your Neighbor Community.

The aim of the conference is to create a space for discussion and to raise awareness of cultural and religious diversity, mutual recognition, equality and the importance of and the need for freedom of religion for all. Since the beginning of Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, large-scale conflicts have destabilized regions around the world, including Europe and the Middle East. In this context, radical ideologies that feed discrimination and hostility are being promoted. Recent events highlight the need for intercultural and interfaith dialogue to promote mutual understanding, tolerance and respect.  Such dialogue also leads to solidarity and peaceful coexistence in times of crisis and conflict.
