„Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine is not just a local or European conflict. It is a global war with far-reaching consequences. Many international players are involved," said Minister Lipavský during his speech in Doha.

During his visit to Qatar, the Minister also held several bilateral meetings. He discussed with the Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Muhammad bin Abdulrahman Al Thani the dynamic development of Czech-Qatari relations, especially cooperation in the fields of diplomacy, trade, investment and energy. They also discussed the delivery of humanitarian aid to Ukraine.

He and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani discussed strengthening cooperation in the security and defence sector. The Minister expressed support for Qatar as an important partner of the North Atlantic Alliance.

He discussed European security issues and global challenges with the President of the Munich Security Conference, Christoph Heusgen. They agreed on the need to continue to strengthen transatlantic cooperation.

Minister Lipavský described his participation in the forum and the meetings as an important step in strengthening relations between the Czechia, Qatar and key partners in the Middle East and Europe region. "The Doha Forum is an important platform for dialogue on the key issues of the day and I am glad that we were able to highlight Czech priorities here," he added.
