Czechia Will Be Represented by New Ambassadors in Singapore, Estonia and Senegal

 

Czech diplomacy will send new ambassadors to three destinations inthe coming months. Dana Baschová will become the Czech ambassador to Singapore, Zdeněk Beránek will go to Tallinn and Pavel Procházka to Dakar.  

"We are sending experienced diplomats to all three destinations and I wish them good luck in their future assignments," said Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský. 

In July 2023, Dana Baschová was appointed Department of the Americas’ Director, after serving as the Head of North America Unit (2020-2023).  Previously, she was the Deputy Head of Mission at the Czech Embassy in Vienna (2014-2017), and Deputy Head of Mission at the Czech Embassy in Tel Aviv (2010-2013). Before that, she served in various capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Head of the First Deputy Minister’ Office (2006-2009). Her first assignment was to the Czech Embassy in Baghdad (2003).  Besides her career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she served as Deputy Director of Aspen Institute Central Europe (2017-2020) and worked with People in Need Organization (2004-2005). 

Zdeněk Beránek joined the Czech Foreign Ministry in 2007. From 2009 to 2014, he worked as Deputy Head of Mission at the Czech Embassy in Jordan, then in 2014-2016 he worked in the Foreign Department of the Office of the President of the Republic. Between 2016-2021, he was Deputy Head of Mission at the Czech Embassy in the United States of America. Since 2022, he has been an advisor to the Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies on foreign affairs. 

Pavel Procházka has worked in Czech diplomacy since 1993. His career has been mainly linked to his work in sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America. In 2008-2009, he was Director of the Secretariat for the Preparation of the Czech Presidency of the EU Council, then Ambassador to Costa Rica in 2009-2011 and Consul General in Sao Paulo in 2011-2015. Since 2021 he has been the Czech Ambassador to Zambia. 

All three ambassadors already have the consent of the receiving country, the so-called agrément, and will take up their posts during the summer of 2025.
