The training took place based on a memorandum on cooperation, signed between both institutions in October 2024, on the occasion of the visit of Minister Jan Lipavský to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
„I congratulate our young Bosnian and Herzegovinian colleagues on completing the course and wish them a lot of success in their future career. I hope that they will use their newly acquired knowledge both in favour of fulfilling the conditions for the accession of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the EU, and to deepening the traditionally friendly relations between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Republic,“ said Dana Kovaříková, the Director of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the official ending ceremony.
The training was designed as sharing Czech experience from the EU accession process and from EU membership proper. Thus, it was focused on mainly on the process of accession negotiations, current technical and geopolitical aspects of EU enlargement, the explanation of Czech system of coordination of EU affairs and the role of individual institutions in this system. The training took place primarily in the premises of the Diplomatic Academy in the Trauttmansdorff palace but the participants had also the opportunity to visit the Office of the Government, the Office of the Minister for European Affairs and the Ministry of Transport. They were also welcomed at the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Prague.
The lectures were complemented by cultural programme, whereby the young diplomats could get acquainted with Czech history and culture.
At the end of the programme, during a festive ceremony in the chapel of the Trauttmansdorff palace, the participants received their course certificates from the hands of Dana Kovaříková, the Director of the Diplomatic Academy.
