The Czech-Mongolian Business Forum organised on the occasion of the state visit of the Mongolian President to the Czech Republic took place at the Czernin Palace on Tuesday 11 March 2025 in the presence of the President of the Republic Petr Pavel and the President of the Republic of Mongolia Ukhnaagin Khurelsukh.
The large gathering of businessmen and business delegations was welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský. The Minister praised Mongolia as a long-standing trading partner of Czechia on the Asian continent. "The Republic of Mongolia has been one of our traditional and valued trading partners for more than 100 years. Therefore, I am pleased with the dynamic and growing potential of the bilateral trade relations. As an example of good economic cooperation between our two countries, I would mention not only the Memoranda of Understanding signed today, but also, for example, the "Qualified Worker - Mongolia" programme, which enables Czech companies to acquire qualified workers and which, based on the excellent results achieved so far, enjoys great interest and popularity among our companies," Minister Lipavský said in his speech.
During the Czech-Mongolian Business Forum, the presidents of the chambers of commerce signed a memorandum of understanding and cooperation in the presence of the presidents of the Czech Republic and Mongolia.
"Czech-Mongolian relations have a long tradition and resulted in a record trade exchange of over half a billion crowns in 2023. The Chamber of Commerce has played and wants to continue to play an active role in promoting mutual cooperation, both by participating in business forums and trade missions. By the way, the last mission to Mongolia took place half a year ago, which itself speaks for the intensity of mutual business contacts between the two countries. Therefore, I believe that today's event will also strengthen mutual economic ties and mutual cooperation will continue to grow," said Zdeněk Zajíček, President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce.
During the business forum, a number of Czech and Mongolian business institutions were also introduced and at the end of the event, representatives of companies from both countries were able to discuss in B2B meetings. The participants of the forum agreed that this forum not only confirmed the high level of mutual economic relations, but will also help to further deepen their level in the future.
