Czech government approves another addition to the sanctions list at the suggestion of the Foreign Minister Lipavský

On the proposal of Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský, the government yesterday (November 15) approved another addition to the national sanctions list. It concerns the Federal State Unitary Enterprise "Enterprise for Administration of Assets Abroad" of the Chancellery of the President of the Russian Federation (Goszagransobstvennost).

It operates and manages a large number of properties in Czechia which are the assets of the Russian Federation.

"We have included this company on the national sanctions list because funds from its commercial activities, including leases, flow directly into the budget of the Russian Federation, which sponsors the murder of civilians in Ukraine," said Czech diplomatic chief Jan Lipavský.

The measure adopted today does not apply to the buildings of the diplomatic mission that we notified to the Russian Federation in 2020. These are 4 buildings out of the total number of properties owned by the Russian Federation on the territory of the Czechia.

Given the fact that there was a risk of defeating its purpose, the Czech diplomacy decided to register it on the national sanctions list before it was proposed for inclusion on the EU list. "Nevertheless, it remains true that our aim is to propose entities for the EU list, as the effects of such a measure are valid in 27 countries," the Czech diplomatic chief added.

The Financial Analytical Office is in charge of the implementation and enforcement of sanctions, as in any case.
