Both sides expressed their interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation in political, economic and trade. The political consultations followed the visit of the Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Búrita to Czechia in October 2023.

"We agreed that we want to deepen cooperation, especially in the defence industry, healthcare, mining and science and innovation. Despite the record turnover in mutual trade, I see untapped potential for investment opportunities. Morocco's location also represents a gateway to sub-Saharan Africa and offers Czech investors an opportunity to establish themselves there," said Deputy Minister Kozák.

During his visit, Deputy Kozák also visited Fez, where he met with the local Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic, Mostafa Meskini. He also spoke at a debate organized by the Policy Center for the New South think tank in Rabat on the topic of Czechia's foreign policy and the situation in the world.

This year marks the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Morocco. Morocco is Czechia's second largest trading partner in Africa. Last year, bilateral trade reached a record 26.1 billion Czech crowns.
