Czechia's Position on Recognising the State of Palestine

Czechoslovakia, the predecessor of Czechia, never recognised the State of Palestine; it only acknowledged the proclamation of Palestine, in line with UN General Assembly Resolution 43/177.
This move was deliberately phrased as “acknowledging the proclamation,” in order to follow the official Soviet policy, and was not intended to have any legal effect. Currently, Czechia fully supports the two-state solution, as reiterated, for example, last week during the UN General Assembly session.
