The Czech Republic condemns the signing of the so called “Treaty on Alliance and Strategic Partnership“ by the Russian Federation and Georgia’s breakaway region of Abkhazia on November 24, 2014, as a step that will complicate efforts to stabilize the security situation in the region.
This move violates the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and is contrary to the basic principles of international law, as well as with the commitments of the Russian Federation under international law.
The Czech Republic reiterates its full and consistent support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders.
