The International Intercultural and Interfaith Conference "Building Bridges Towards Peace" was opened by Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský on Dec 15, 2022 at the Czernin Palace. The main goal of the Conference was to support intercultural and interfaith dialogue that leads to mutual respect and helps to support peace in the time of crisis.
At the International Intercultural and Interfaith Conference "Building Bridges Towards Peace" Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský said: “Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders, academics and diplomats should strive to make public space more moderate, peaceful, democratic and inclusive. And that is possible only through open dialogue.”
The goal of the 7th Intercultural and Interfaith Conference was to highlight the necessity to build effective diplomatic communication with different approaches to ongoing conflicts, to increase the support for peace, to find common ways religion can build resilience across different cultures and to discuss how to prevent the misuse of religion. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hosted the conference in the Czernin Palace with the participation of leading experts, diplomats and representatives of Christianity, Judaism and Islam from more than a dozen countries of Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
The conference was organized by the Special Envoy for Holocaust, Interfaith Dialogue and Freedom of Religion or Belief Robert Řehák, the Prague Ambassadors Group of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Institute of International Relations and the Anna Lindh Foundation.
