MFA response to the reduction of local staff

Russia has decided to limit the number of so-called local staff (i.e. Russian employees at the Czech Embassy in Moscow and the Czech House employed under local law) at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Moscow to the same number as the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Prague.
These embassy workers in Moscow performed service activities and did not participate directly in the diplomatic and consular functions of our embassy. For the Czech Republic, this step represents a significant technical and administrative complication. We will therefore be forced to include the fact of this reduction in future parity negotiations on the number of staff in both embassies.
