
Deputy Minister Chmelař held talks with the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Aleš Chmelař had a meeting with the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality Ms. Ketevan Tsikhelashvili on 23 May 2019. Bilateral relations and „frozen conflicts“ on the territory of Georgia were among the main topics.
Deputy Minister Chmelař congratulated the Georgian guests on the Independence Day of Georgia of May 26, and underlined a high level of bilateral relations. He emphasized that the Czech Republic remains committed to its support for Georgia's efforts to move ahead on the European and Euro-Atlantic path and considers the peaceful resolution, based on full respect for the principles of Georgia’s independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity, as the only way to ensure a just and lasting solution to the „frozen conflicts“.
State Minister Tsikhelashvili expressed gratitude for providing coherent support to her country as for its top priorities, i.e. territorial integrity and the European and Euro-Atlantic integration ambitions. The State Minister presented situation in the regions of South Ossetia and Abkhazia and the concrete projects of the Georgian government focused at achieving the peace and reconciliation.
