The EU and Arab League leaders discussed progress in mutual relations since the last ministerial held in Athens in 2014 and exchanged views on the latest developments in the region, be it the situation in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Yemen or Middle East Peace Process. The Ministers also discussed terrorism, migration and humanitarian assistance provided to the countries affected by the ongoing conflicts and adopted a joint declaration.
In the margins of the meeting, Deputy Minister Kolaja together with the Foreign Ministers of the Visegrad Group held bilateral talks with the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry. The V4 enquired about the current economic and political situation in Egypt, as well as about the Egyptian view of developments in the neighborhood. They also discussed the modalities of increased cooperation between the Visegrad Group and Egypt.
