Where to Submit Application - Territorial Competence

 

When applying for long-term visas and residence permits, the so-called territorial consular competence rule is observed.

= APPLICANTS CAN LODGE THEIR APPLICATIONS ONLY IN THOSE STATES OF WHICH THEY ARE

1) CITIZENS, 

2) RESIDENTS (for at least the PAST 2 YEARS),

3) HOLDERS OF PASSPORT.

 

CITIZENS OF THESE STATES are exempted from the rule:

  • BARBADOS  
  • BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
  • BRAZIL

  • GUATEMALA
  • HOLLY SEE
  • HONDURAS
  • HONG KONG, Sp. Adm. Region
  • ISRAEL
  • JAPAN
  • MACAO, Sp. Adm. Region
  • MALAYSIA
  • MAURITIUS
  • MEXICO
  • MONACO
  • MONTENEGRO
  • NEW ZEALAND
  • NICARAGUA
  • NORTH MACEDONIA
  • PANAMA
  • PARAGUAY
  • SAINT KITTS AND NEVIS
  • SALVADOR
  • SAN MARINO
  • SERBIA
  • SEYCHELLES
  • SINGAPORE

Citizens of these states can apply for a long-term visas and residence permits at any of  Czechia´s diplomatic missions. However, do note that diplomatic missions provide services to persons belonging to their consular district. Applicants are asked to make such arrangements as to seek visa services primarily at the diplomatic missions accredited for their home countries.

Czechia does not have a diplomatic representation in every state. Some Czechia´s diplomatic missions are accredited for more states. Overview of the territorial districts can be found here.
