
Minister Lipavský to Visit Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan

Minister of Foreign Affairs Jan Lipavský will visit Kazakhstan on Monday, 21 October, followed by a visit to Uzbekistan on Tuesday, 22 October.
The trip will take place in countries that are key in the Central Asian region. Kazakhstan is an important supplier of oil to Czechia and a major world producer of uranium. Minister Lipavský will discuss with Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu and President Kassym-Zomart Tokayev mutual cooperation in the energy sector, defence industry and air transport.
Minister Lipavský will begin his programme in Uzbekistan with a lecture at the University of World Diplomacy and Economy in the capital Tashkent. He will also meet with Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov and will be received by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Djamishid Khojaev. This will be the first visit to Uzbekistan by a foreign minister since 1995. The country is moving towards digitalisation and modernisation and these are areas where Czechia can offer its expertise.
