General Diplomatic Training (DA1)
This programme presents basic diplomatic theory and training, while being the entry point to a diplomatic career at the MFA.
It is designed as a professional training programme for junior diplomats selected through an annual call for applications and a gruelling selection process. The programme lasts several months and consists of class-room based theoretical and skill development, followed by practical, on the job training. The theoretical component consists of guest lectures, skills courses and field trips. The practical component is divided between Czech Embassies abroad and within the MFA in Prague. For the duration of the training the junior diplomats are employed by the MFA and assigned internally to the Diplomatic Academy. Successful completion of the programme is based on attendance during both parts of the training, completion of specific tasks and on a final presentation.
