
Story of the Bata Company

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Islamabad in cooperation with the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Lahore and the Country Manager of Bata Pakistan organized an exhibition about the sotry of the Bata Company in Batapur to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Czech modern statehood and the cooperation of both countries in the field of shoe industry.
An exhibition about the story of the Bata Company was held in Batapur near Lahore from October 29, to October 31, 2018. The shoe company Bata, named after its founder, was established in Zlín in the today's Czech Rebublic in 1894.
With a great support by the Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Lahore and the Country Manager of Bata Pakistan, M. Imran Malik, an exhibition about the history of the company and its historical presence in Pakistan was held in Batapur. In Batapur, the first Bata factory was established on the Indian subcontinent. Batapur was established as a Bata-ville, a village where workers of the Bata factory were living.
The exhibition was a part of the celebrations of the 100th Anniversary of the Czech modern statehood in Pakistan. The exhibition has aroused enormous interest for which the Embassy envisages to display it in other Pakistani cities in 2019 as well.
