The popularity of Czech wines has been steadily growing year by year on the market in Hong Kong as it demonstrates the Czech exposition at Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair 2019. Various wines originating from the Czech Republic had even obtained awards within the international competition in Hong Kong this year. On the 7th of November 2019 spanning until the 9th, seven Moravian and Bohemian companies presented and promoted their wines and spirits at the Czech Pavilion during the HKCEC event.
The participation of Czech wineries and exporters was organised by Czech Grape and Wine Producers Association, financially supported by Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic and coordinated with Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Hong Kong, which organised the special promotion event "Czech Wine Night" at the residence of Consul General. Czech wineries were even awarded many medals during Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Competition this year. These awards include; five silver and four bronze medals within the "Still Wine" category, and two bronze and a silver medal in the "Sparkling Wine" category.
