
Czech literature presentation

The contemporary Czech literature was presented to the Finnish publishers at the Embassy on Tuesday 3 October 2017. The program continued with public reading and discussion with writers in the Rikhardinkatu library.
The Czech Embassy in Helsinki in cooperation with the Czech Literary Center and some of the Finnish translators organized the new Czech literature presentation at the Embassy premises on Tuesday 3 October 2017, from 3 to 4,30 pm. In the presentation the new Czech books and the grants for publishing Czech literature abroad were introduced.
The special guests of the seminar were two Czech writers: Bianca Bell (holder of the Magnesia Litera Prize and the EU Prize of Literature in 2017 for the novel Jezero/The Lake) and Markéta Hejkalová.
The program continued from 6 pm in the Rikhardinkatu Library in Helsinki by readings and discussions with the two Czech writers and the Finnish author Riikka Pelo. The passages of the books were read by Jari Aula.
