Femine choir Cantus Feminae visited Helsinki

On June 2nd through 5th, 2011 a 25-member choir from the little Czech city Nechanice introduced itself to the Finnish public while giving two concerts in Helsinki. The repertoire maily consists of Czech composers´ songs, e.g. A. Dvořák and V. Martinů.
The choir was received by Ambassador M. Tomčo on June 2nd at the Embassy, who took over a letter from the hands of the choirmaster P. Semerák; the letter was sent by the Mayor of Nechanice, Mr. J. Pechar. Two performances took place on the openair stage Espan lava (Esplanadi) in the very center of the capital and in the church Paavalinkirkko. A second concert was a common project with the Finnish choir Galerie Helsinki.
