
Annual Meeting of the Czech Economic Diplomats

Annual Meeting of the Czech Economic Diplomats was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic in Prague from 24 to 28 June 2024. Economic and Development Diplomat of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus Mr. Tomas Chlopcik was also present.
The meeting brought together 170 economic, agricultural and scientific diplomats from Czech Embassies and Consulates and also representatives of CzechTrade and CzechInvest agencies based abroad.

The meeting was opened by the Czech Foreign Minister Mr. Jan Lipavsky. The opening panel, focused on Czechia's economic growth, security and innovation, also featured contributions by Minister of Industry and Trade Jozef Sikela, Deputy Minister for Science and Innovation Jana Havlikova and Deputy Minister of Defence Daniel Blazkovec.

The next panel focused on the success of Czech companies and branding and featured speeches by David Muller, Director General of the European Union and Foreign Trade Section of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Zdeněk Zajíček, President of the Chamber of Commerce, or Radek Spicar, Vice President of the Confederation of Industry and Transport.

The first three days of the conference include discussions with representatives of governmental and non-governmental institutions, economic experts and entrepreneurs on the outlook for the Czech economy, trends in foreign trade and current topics in the field of economic and scientific diplomacy.
The economic diplomats also reviewed the achievements of the past year and discussed the challenges ahead.

In general, the conference focused on strengthening Czechia's economic interests abroad and the role of branding, as well as the impact of geopolitics on the global economy.
