Czech POINT Service Available Now in Damascus

The Czech POINT terminal is now available at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus with effect from 1st October 2024. Czech POINT provides a range of administrative services, allowing individuals and businesses to access information from public administration systems, submit documents to state authorities, establish and manage data boxes, and convert paper documents into digital files, and vice versa.

From now you can apply for a business license if you want to become private businessman in the Czech Republic.

 

Data Mailbox

You can create your own Czech data mailbox which enables you to send electronic documents to the Czech public authorities free of charge. You can also receive correspondence from municipal authorities, courts, state authorities and agencies via data mailbox. This means that you can use your data mailbox to communicate with the Czech public administration system anywhere, anytime.

 

Authorised Conversion of Documents

Authorised conversion consists of a complete conversion of documents from paper to electronic format or a complete conversion of electronic to paper documents. The resulting document has the same legal effects as an authenticated copy of the original converted document.

 

Document Storage

You can also use Czech POINT Document Storage which is a support system for document conversion and eLegalization. It is used for temporary storage of documents as part of conversion and eLegalization. When converting a document in paper form into a document contained in a data report or data file at the Czech POINT contact point, the converted document can be stored in a safe deposit box for further use. The converted document will be stored for 30 days. When converting a document contained in a data report or a data file into a document in paper form, the input document can be stored in the vault through this portal or by sending it from the data box. Subsequently, it can be converted into paper form at the Czech POINT contact point.

 

Extract or Record from Government Databases

You can get a record from the following databases of the Czech Government:

1. Register of crimes (rejstřík trestů) - criminal record,

2. Real Estate Register (katastr nemovitostí),

3. Insolvency Register (insolvenční rejstřík), 

4. Driver's Rating Database (bodové hodnocení řidiče),

5. Register of companies (obchodní rejstřík)

6. Register of public benefit entities (rejstřík obecně prospěšných společností)

7. Register of private entrepreneurs (živnostenský rejstřík)

8. Register of associations (spolkový rejstřík),

9. Register of foundations (nadační rejstřík),

10. Register of institutes (registr ústavů),

11. Register of real estate unit owners' communities (rejstřík společenství vlastníků jednotek),

12. List of qualified suppliers (seznam kvalifikovaných dodavatelů),

13. Police register PATROS -  list of wanted and missing persons announced by the Police of the Czech Republic (seznam hledaných osob),

14. Police register PATRMV - list of vehicles searched by the Police of the Czech Republic (seznam hledaných vozidel),

15. List of the patient's electronic prescriptions (seznam vydaných eReceptů),

16. Central repository of eLegalizations (centrální úložiště ověřovacích doložek) - to verify the authenticity of the document that is the output of the document conversion or to verify the authenticity of eLegalization, verify the validity of the original verification clause, verify the validity of the sheet verification clause or extend the validity of the verification clause,

17. ISOH register of car wrecks (registr účastníků provozu modulu autovraků ISOH).

To use Czech POINT services, an appointment must be scheduled in advance. Please contact the Embassy by email sent to damascus@mzv.gov.cz (write your preferred date and time).

Fees and Payment Information

The fees for Czech POINT services are outlined in the Embassy’s Consular Fee Schedule and are payable in cash in Syrian Pounds (SYP) at the time of your appointment. The consular fee is adjusted monthly according to the current exchange rate. For reference, the following fees are listed in Czech currency (CZK) in the Annex to the Czech Act No. 634/2004 Coll., on administrative fees:

151 e) a f) 100 CZK Authorized conversion on request, depending on the number of pages of the converted document.
155 b) 300 CZK for the first page.
150 CZK for each additional page.

- Issuing a certified output (extract) from the public administration information system, with the exception of a certified extract from the criminal record;
- Issuing extracts from the basic registers;
- Issuing an extract from the Land Registry;
- Request for mediated identification, according to the number of pages of the public document; annexes to the public document are not included in the number of pages;
- Submission to the register of participants in the operation of the ISOH wreck module.

155 c) 150 CZK Receipt of a submission pursuant to Section 72 of the Trade Licensing Act, plus an administrative fee according to the nature of the submission (item 24).

The documents obtained through Czech POINT are primarily intended for use within the Czech Republic.

Documents with multilingual annexes are recognized within EU countries. However, if you require documents for use outside the EU, additional legalization (such as superlegalization or apostilization) may be required. Please contact the Embassy for further assistance on document legalization.
