The president of the Czech Republic congratulated the Danish Queen

The president of the Czech Republic Miloš Zeman sent a congratulations letter to H.M. Queen Margrethe II of Denmark on her significant jubilee.

The president of the Czech Republic

(Unofficial translation, Prague, 30 March 2015)

Her Majesty
Margrethe II
Queen of Denmark
Copenhagen

Your Majesty,

Allow me on behalf of myself and the Czech people to cordially congratulate you on your significant jubilee. With joy, I note that relations between our countries are traditionally friendly and that they are developing successfully.

Personally, I am especially happy about the high degree of cooperation in the field of education and culture. I believe that encounters between students and young people, either at summer courses in Danish or at the University of Copenhagen, are an excellent investment in the future.

I would also like to use this opportunity to remind of the invitation to Your Majesty and the Prince Consort to visit Prague in May 2016 during the celebrations of the 700th birth anniversary of the Holy Roman Emperor and Czech King Charles IV. A monarch who still, after more than half a millennium, has a firm place in the heart of the Czech nation.

Allow me, Your Majesty, to once again congratulate you and wish you a good health, much success, and happiness.

With deep respect

Miloš Zeman
