The event took place in the cultural centre the North Atlantic House in Copenhagen. Besides the Greenlandic Representation, both the Representatives of the Faroe Islands and the Embassy of Island, have their residence there.

Initial problems with the projector were solved after a while

After a short informative movie about Greenland and an opening speech by the Head of Greenland’s Representation Tove Søvndahl Pedersen, Z. Lyčka was talking about his crossing of the Greenlandic Ice-cap. The four man expedition set out 8 April 2011 from the international airport Kangerlussuaq and after more than 30 days (6 May 2011) arrived to the town of Tasiilaq on the East coast of Greenland. The whole trail was almost 600 km long.

The audience

Among approximately an audience of 50 people there were mostly the Ambassadors accredited in Copenhagen, VIP employees of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the other three members of the expedition and people interested in Arctic issues. The company Karlovarské oplatky. s. r. o. (Carlsbad Spa Wafers) and the restaurant Café Bohemia in Copenhagen participated as sponsors.
