Since 1991 Lemvig has been the Twin City of the Czech town of Písek. Therefore the possibilities of cooperation between the Town Hall and the Czech Embassy were discussed during the meeting, f.e. an exhibition of cartoons by Miroslav Barták, illustrations to H. C. Andersen´s fairy-tales by Renáta Fučíková and illustrations to the Czech edition of Greenlandic Myths and Legends by Martin Velíšek were mentioned.

After the municipal reform realized in Denmark in 2007, where former 271 municipalities were reduced to the present 98 municipalities and 13 regions were replaced with 5 regions, the Lemvig’s interest in the cooperation with the Czech town of Písek still endures. Also the new townhall representatives in Písek are still interested in the partnership. The Czech Embassy in Denmark will therefore fully support the partnership between these two towns, confirmed with the partnership agreement from 27 May 2006.
