Payment of pensions abroad

From January 1, 2026, a new pension payment system will be introduced for Czech citizens living abroad. It will now be sufficient to send a “Certificate of Living " only twice a year—in June and December. Pensions will be paid automatically every month, without the need for monthly confirmation by recipients.

If the applicant fails to send the "Certificate of Living" by the required deadline, the Czech Social Security Administration (ČSSZ) will suspend the payment of their pension from the following month until the certificate is delivered to the ČSSZ again.

More detailed information from the ČSSZ can be found at this link.
