(This article expired 22.11.2017 / 21:00.)

As part of the Kosherfest 2017 fair, held in New Jersey on November 15th and 16th of 2016, five Czech companies presented their products to thousands of visitors at this, the largest kosher product trade fair in the world.

The Czech companies Betula Pendula (food and cosmetic products made from goat colostrum), Fikar (luxury chocolate), Fromin (spring water), FT Trading (seeds and oil) and Semix (whole grains) presented their product to a packed fair hall in New Jersey. The firms were supported and promoted by the attendance of, among others, Rabbinic Kashrus Coordinator Aaron Gűnsberger and Karel Smékal, economic consul of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in New York.

The kosher food industry is particularly strong in New York and several adjacent states, largely due to the presence of a numerous Jewish community. The amount of Czech companies that have obtained the highly valued kosher certification, subject to the strict rules of kosher products, for their products has gradually increased, thereby opening the doors for Czech companies to a highly competitive but also highly lucrative market. Its potential is demonstrated by the enormous interest of collectors and dealers focused on kosher products, who were plentifully present at this year’s Kosherfest, and who provided the Czech participants with a great deal of valuable contacts.
