Czech Consulate in Chicago together with the Kansas Department of Commerce organized a Roundtable on Animal Health, focusing on sharing experience and best practices in biosecurity and food security. The event brought together academic, government and business leaders, and attracted almost fifty attendees.
The roundtable was initiated by Opening Remarks delivered by the Czech Consul General in Chicago, Jakub Utěšený, special message of Kansas Lieutenant Governor, David Toland, and Czech Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Pavel Sekáč. They emphasized the importance of international cooperation in research and innovation and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering collaboration in the field and beyond.
The roundtable featured two key sections, focused mainly on exploring opportunities for academic, research and business collaboration. Throughout the discussions, the speakers acknowledged that some of the biggest challenges facing the field today include the emergence of new diseases, the lack of veterinarians, the role of digital health, and the need for sustainable solutions. Addressing these challenges requires stronger collaboration between the business sector and researchers.
