A series of Czech-themed events will take place across Chicago and its surrounding areas from September 21 to 28. These events are organized by local Czech-American community groups and associations in cooperation with the Consulate General of the Czech Republic.
The inaugural Chicago Czech Heritage Week will kick off with the traditional celebration of Moravian Days and conclude on September 28, Czech Statehood Day, a day when Czechs annually commemorate St. Wenceslas, the patron and protector of the Czech nation.
The aim of this series of cultural and educational events is to highlight the rich history of the Czech-American community in the greater Chicago area and to contribute to the diversity of the city's cultural scene.
Join us and enjoy the celebration of Czech heritage in a city that, just a century ago, was among the top three cities in the world with the largest Czech population.
