On the occasion of the upcoming International Human Rights Day, a screening of the film „The Presence of Arnošt Lustig“ took place at the Consulate General of the Czech republic in Chicago. The film beautifully commemorates the life, work, and humanistic legacy of the renowned Czech writer Arnošt Lustig.
The screening was followed by a stimulating discussion led by Benjamin Frommer and Eva Lustigová, highlighting key moments influencing Arnošt Lustig's artistic endeavors, often intertwined with themes of the Holocaust, human dignity, and interpersonal solidarity.
We extend our gratitude to the Arnošt Lustig Foundation , T. G. Masaryk Czech School and the Masaryk Club at the University of Chicago for their support and collaboration in organizing and realizing this extraordinary event.
