Developing strategic relations with the United States is one of the priorities of Czech foreign policy. Strengthening ties with individual U.S. states forms an important part of this effort and helps facilitate concrete projects at the regional and local levels for the benefit of citizens of both the Czech Republic and the United States.

Kansas is an important partner for the Czech Republic. It has a strong position in agriculture and the aviation industry and ranks among the leading centers of research, development, and business activity in the field of animal health. Kansas's highly diversified industrial base, central geographic location, and emphasis on research and innovation make it one of the strategically significant states of the American Midwest. Kansas is also home to substantial Czech investment and one of the larger Czech-American communities in the United States, concentrated particularly around the town of Wilson.

The signed statement establishes a framework for further deepening cooperation in trade, technological development, and the creative industries. Specifically, it envisages expanded activities in aviation, advanced manufacturing, agricultural technologies, animal health, and nanotechnology. Cultural, sporting, and community events organized with the support of the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Chicago and the Honorary Consulate of the Czech Republic in Kansas City will further contribute to building new connections between the people of the Czech Republic and Kansas.
