The exhibition was held in cooperation with the Embassy of Slovakia, following up on other events related to the jubilee celebrations in 2018.
After the introductory word of Chargé d'Affaires Ondrej Boháč and Deputy Head of Mission of the Slovak Embassy Nora Heffner, representatives from the Australian National University made compelling presentations not only on the events of August 1968, but also the entire background of this important milestone in Czech and Slovak history. The presentations were followed by a documentary film. As a part of the commemorative evening there was a panel exhibition on display, including a jubilee postage stamp issued specifically for this anniversary.
In addition to the representatives of the diplomatic corps, a number of Czech and Slovak expatriots participated in the festive evening, some of whom were actually forced by the events of August 1968 to emigrate to Australia.
