Tragic events at Charles University in Prague

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Canberra was shocked by the news of the tragic events at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University in Prague. Our thoughts, prayers and deep sorrow go out to all the families and friends of the innocent victims of this senseless act. We greatly appreciate the support and thoughts we are receiving from the Australian public and government officials. The Czech Government has declared Saturday 23 December 2023 a day of mourning. Flags fly at half-mast at the Embassy building and a book of condolences has been set up at condolences@mzv.gov.cz.
