Deputy Minister Kulhanek held consultations in New Zealand

Deputy Minister Of Foreign Affairs for Security and Multilateral Issues Jakub Kulhanek visited Wellington for consultations between 22th - 23th October 2015.
Mr Kulhanek met Deputy Secretary for Multilateral and Legal Affairs Ms Lucy Duncan and Deputy Secretary for Australia, Pacific and Europe Mr. Bede Corry at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of New Zealand. With Deputy Secretary Lucy Duncan Deputy Minister Kulhanek exchanged views on the Middle East peace process, Syria, Iraq, Ukraine, East Asia and South East Asia. New Zealand as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council is very much interested in opinions of its partners, including the Czech Republic. Both sides have agreed that positions of the Czech Republic and New Zealand on key foreign policy issues are very similar and closer cooperation can be established.
With Deputy Secretary Bede Corry Deputy Minister Kulhanek had a detailed discussion on bilateral relations between the Czech Republic and New Zealand. There is clearly a significant potential for further enhancing the relationship, in particular in the area of the economic relations. They have also touched upon the Working Holiday Programme, which is very popular with Czech young people. Deputy Minister Kulhanek have also appreciated the recent exhibition of Lindauer´s Maori portraits in Pilsen. Besides the meetings at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade Deputy Minister Kulhanek also met with Deputy Secretary of Defence Mr. Tony Lynch at the Ministry of Defence of New Zealand.
