Deputy Head of Mission Ondřej Hovádek attended the memorial ceremony for the fallen soldiers

On 10 November 2023, Deputy Head of Mission Ondřej Hovádek attended a memorial ceremony for the fallen soldiers of wars in which Australia was also a participant at the National War Memorial in Canberra.

The ceremony included a memorial service, the laying of wreaths by the diplomatic corps and a minute's silence for the fallen at 11am sharp. The Director of the Memorial, Mr Matt Anderson PSM, delivered the remembrance address.

Remembrance Day (11 November), which always falls on the second Sunday in November, commemorates the date of the end of the First World War on the western battlefields and all those who gave their lives in the cause of peace and freedom for future generations.
