Ambassador Tomáš Dub signed the Book of Condolences for the death of Mr Jan Olszewski

Mr Jan Olszewski, former Prime Minister of the Government of Poland passed away on 7 February 2019 at the age of 88.
Message from the Ambassador:
"It is with deep sorrow that I received a report on the death of a prominent personality of Poland, a Prime Minister, an intellectual and in the times of the communist dictatorship opposition leader Jan Ferdynand Olszewski. For us, the Czechs wishing and striving for freedom, the brave representants of the Polish anti-communist opposition were a great inspiration. We will never forget him and his deeds. On behalf of the Czech Embassy in Canberra, I express our deepest condolences to the Polish nation and our thoughts are with the family of the deceased."
